Frozen Greek Yogurt

I went to Baltimore for the weekend to visit Laura. We hung out. We ran. We sailed. We cooked. But more on all of that later. Lots of photos to be edited before that post goes up.

In the mean time, I’ll give you a little “taste” from our weekend: frozen Greek yogurt.

Laura’s mom had an ice cream maker that she didn’t really use so she gave it to Laura and told her to practice with it before their annual family beach trip. We tested it out on Saturday night.

The ingredients:

  • 1 quart 2% plain Greek yogurt
  • 7 T honey
  • 1.5 T lemon juice

We mixed the ingredients in a bowl and dumped it into the ice cream machine.

Yes, it was that easy.

Then came the hardest part: waiting. It took about 30 minutes, but it was worth it.

The end result looked exactly like store-bought frozen yogurt, but the question remained, did it taste as good?

It absolutely did. But without all the preservatives and such! 100% real food.

We threw some peaches on the grill and then filled them with our frozen yogurt. The finishing touch was a sprinkle of cinnamon and a drizzle of honey.

After trying this, I think just might have to buy my own ice cream maker…
