Writer’s Block

I haven’t felt much like writing the past week or so.

Part of it is that I haven’t taken many pictures and a post with photos is so much more exciting than a post without.

And part of it is that I just haven’t had anything to write about. Life is good, but not terribly exciting at the moment. (more…)

Pray

I chose the title “Pray. Eat. Run. Write.” because those are things that are important to me. They are things I value and which greatly enrich my life. For me, they are the kind of life-giving activities where I lose track of everything around me. I become absorbed, focused, “in the zone.” (more…)

Puddle Jumping

I was faced with a dilemma when I got home from work. I wanted to run, but it was chilly and rainy.

At first I was going to just scrap the run completely, but I’d had a pretty stressful day at work and needed to blow off some steam. I have two main mechanisms for coping with stress: eating (bad) and running (good). Today was one of those days where I didn’t want to run. I needed to run. If I didn’t, it was highly likely I’d eat an entire jar of almond butter. (more…)

The Value of a Picture

Once again, I am slacking on my photo-a-day project. I’ll catch up. I always do.

Yesterday’s assignment was “what you’re reading” so I figured I’d give you one thousand words about the books currently on my Kindle in place of a picture. If a picture is worth 1,000 words, surely the reverse is true as well, right? So here goes. 1,000 words. (more…)
